
Grady Young of Leader, Saskatchewan is the Pool B bull riding leader after Monday of the 2025 Calgary Stampede. Young, who is only 19 years old, posted a score of 91 points on the bull Splash Tide.
Young’s score was 4.5 points more than the cowboy in second place. Trey Benton III of Richards, Texas had a score of 86.5 points on the bull Wild Time. Meanwhile, Mason Moody of Letcher, South Dakota finished in third place with a score of 85.5 points on the bull Whistleblower. Young earned a winning payout of $7200.
Meanwhile, in the saddle bronc, two Canadians placed in the top three. They were Zeke Thurston of Big Valley, Alberta, and Kolby Wanchuk of Sherwood Park, Alberta. Thurston finished in second place with a score of 90.5 points on the bronc named Exciting Bubbles. Wanchuk posted a score of 87 points on the bronc Zorta Proud. Australia’s Damian Brennan is the Pool B leader with a score of 91 points. Brennan earned $7000, Thurston earned $5500, and Wanchuk earned $4500. Thurston has won four Calgary Stampede titles in the saddle bronc since 2015.
In the Rangeland Derby, Chanse Vigen of Calgary, Alberta had the fastest time in the chuckwagon racing competition on Monday of 1:11.39. Vigen continues to lead the aggregate standings. After four days, he has a time of 4:50.18. Jamie Laboucane of St. Walburg, Saskatchewan has the second fastest aggregate time of 4:50.91.
