
Canadian Olympic bronze medalist Gabriela Dabrowski of Ottawa, Ontario won her fourth grand slam tennis title on Friday. She teamed up with Erin Routliffe of New Zealand to win the women’s doubles title at the 2025 United States Open.
In the final, Routliffe and Dabrowski, the third seeds, upset the number one seeds, Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic and Taylor Townsend of the United States, 6-4, 6-4.
Siniakova and Townsend were one of four seeded opponents Dabrowski and Routliffe defeated at the 2025 United States Open. They also beat the 13th seeds, Cristina Bucsa of Spain and Nicole Melichar-Martinez of the United States, 6-4, 6-2 in the third round, the 11th seeded team of Timea Babos of Hungary and Luisa Stefani of Brazil, 0-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinals, and the second seeded Italian team of Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani, 6-4, 6-3.
This was the second grand slam title together for Routliffe and Dabrowski together. They previously beat Laura Siegemund of Germany and Vera Zvonareva of Russia 7-6, 6-3 in the final of the 2023 United States Open.
Dabrowski’s other two grand slam titles came in mixed doubles. She teamed up with Rohan Boppana of India to win the 2017 French Open and Mate Pavic of Croatia to win the 2018 Australian Open. Dabrowski’s Olympic bronze medal came with Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime in mixed doubles at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
