Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman recorded his 16th Major League Baseball postseason home run on Monday. The Canadian accomplished the feat in a 6-5 Dodgers win over the Toronto Blue Jays in game three of the 2025 World Series at Dodger Stadium. With the win, the Dodgers have taken a two games to one lead in the best out of seven series.

Freeman’s dinger was heroic. It came in the bottom of the 18th inning, in what was tied for the longest World Series game in Major League Baseball history. Freeman’s home run was a solo shot that went 406 feet to center field and broke a 5-5 tie. The dinger came off of Blue Jays relief pitcher Brendon Little. It was the first run scored in the game since the seventh inning. There were 10 consecutive innings without a run scored in game three.

Freeman finished the game by recording two hits in seven at bats. He had one run scored and two walks. Of Freeman’s 16 career home runs, nine have come with the Atlanta Braves and seven have come with the Dodgers. Freeman won a World Series with the Braves in 2021 and another with the Dodgers in 2024. Last season Freeman was the World Series MVP.
