The 2026 Montana’s Brier is four days complete and there are four teams undefeated at the moment. In Pool A they are Newfoundland’s Brad Gushue and Canada’s Brad Jacobs, who are both at four wins and zero losses. In Pool B, they are Alberta’s Kevin Koe and Manitoba’s Matt Dunstone, who are both at three wins and zero losses.
Gushue and Jacobs each had the bye on Monday for one of the two draws in Pool A. Gushue had the bye in the morning and Jacobs had the bye in the evening. Jacobs dominated his opponent, Jayden King of Ontario, by a score of 8-2, while Gushue beat fellow Newfoundlander Nathan Young by a score of 8-5.
The key shot for Gushue came in the fifth end, as he had an impressive long in-off raise to put the pressure on Young, who was unable to draw in for a single point with his final stone. As a result, Gushue stole two points, and took a 5-3 lead.
In Group B, Dunstone won in the afternoon, as he beat Jamie Koe of the Northwest Territories 8-3. Another impressive win came from Mike McEwen of Saskatchewan, who limited Sandy MacEwan of Sudbury, Ontario to single point in a 5-1 Saskatchewan win.
