After Tuesday of the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Mississauga, Ontario, we knew that Winnipeg’s Kaitlyn Lawes had qualified for the playoffs. On Wednesday, four teams joined Lawes. In Pool A, it was another Manitoba team in Gimli’s Kerri Einarson, representing Team Canada. In Pool B, Manitoba’s Kelsey Calvert, Nova Scotia’s Christina Black, and Alberta’s Selena Sturmay have advanced.

It should be noted that even though it is considered Team Lawes, it is Selena Njegovan, who is contributing to skipping duties for the team. Lawes won her only game on Wednesday, as she defeated Northwest Territories 7-4. Einarson is at six wins and one loss. Her only defeat came to Lawes by a score of 9-4 on Monday.

In Pool B, Calvert has a perfect record of six wins and zero losses. Black is at six wins and one loss, and Sturmay is at five wins and one loss. The only team to beat Black is Calvert, who won 7-6 in 11 ends on Sunday night. The only team to beat Sturmay is Black, who won 9-6 on Sunday.

There is one massive game on Thursday. That is between Team Ontario and Team Nova Scotia. Ontario is skipped by Hailey Armstrong and Nova Scotia is skipped by Taylour Stevens. Both teams are at five wins and two losses, and the winner gets the final playoff spot.
