The Atlanta Falcons bolstered their defense recently with the acquisition of safety Sydney Brown of London, Ontario. According to Marc Raimondi of ESPN, Brown was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Atlanta Falcons on March 20.
In the deal there was a swap of draft picks. According to Spotrac, the Falcons will receive the fourth round pick (122nd pick) and the sixth round pick (215th overall) in the 2026 National Football League Draft. The Eagles will receive the fourth round pick (114th overall) and the sixth round pick (197th overall) in the 2026 NFL Draft.
This past season, Brown had 34 combined tackles (17 solo tackles and 17 assisted tackles). In Brown’s career he has 86 combined tackles (55 solo tackles and 31 assisted tackles), one tackle for a loss, two interceptions for 120 yards, one pick six, five pass deflections and two forced fumbles.
Brown’s tackle for a loss came on October 29, 2023 in a 38-31 Eagles win over the Washington Commanders. His first forced fumble came in a 28-23 Eagles win over the Dallas Cowboys on November 5, 2023, and his second forced fumble came in a 28-23 Eagles win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 3, 2024.
What Brown brings to the Falcons is an understanding of how to win. He was part of the Eagles team that won Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22.
