Evander Kane of Vancouver, British Columbia notched his second career National Hockey League playoff hat trick on Sunday. He scored thrice in a 4-1 Edmonton Oilers win over the Calgary Flames. With the win, the Oilers lead the Flames two games to one in the Western Conference semifinals.

All of Kane’s goals came in the second period. In fact, Kane recorded a natural hat trick as he scored three goals in a row all in a span of six minutes. At 6:58 of the second period, he scored from Leon Draisaitl to put the Oilers up 2-0. The 2-0 goal turned out to be the game-winner. At 7:51 of the second period, Kane scored from Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario, and Draisaitl, to put the Oilers up 3-0. Then at 12:58 of the second period, Kane scored from McDavid and Draisaitl again to put the Oilers up 4-0.

Like Kane, McDavid had three points for the Oilers, as he had three assists. Draisaitl meanwhile assisted on all four Oilers goals as he had four helpers. The other Oilers goal scorer was Zach Hyman of Toronto, Ontario.

Kane’s first career playoff hat trick also came with the Oilers. It was in game three of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, an 8-2 Oilers win on May 6.
