Evander Kane notches seventh career hat trick in Oilers win over Predators

Evander Kane of Vancouver, British Columbia recorded his seventh career National Hockey League hat trick on Tuesday as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Nashville Predators 7-4. He scored the Oilers’s first, second and seventh goals of the game.

At 4:14 of the first period. Kane scored from Darnell Nurse of Hamilton, Ontario, and Leon Draisaitl to tie the game at one. He then put the Oilers up 2-1 with a goal from Draisaitl and Kailer Yamamoto at 7:25 of the first period. Then with one minute and 37 seconds left in the game, Kane closed out the scoring with a goal from Connor McDavid of Richmond Hill, Ontario and Draisaitl.

Kane was one of two Canadians on the Oilers with a multi-point game. The other was McDavid, who had two goals and two assists for four points.

Kane now has five goals and six assists for 11 points in 10 games for the Oilers this season. He is a +4 with 14 penalty minutes, two power-play points, 42 shots on goal, two faceoff wins, six blocked shots, 41 hits, four takeaways and 10 giveaways.

Of Kane’s seven career NHL hat tricks, five have come in the regular season, and two in the playoffs. Three have come with the San Jose Sharks and now four with the Oilers.

With the win, the Oilers are second in the Pacific Division with a record of seven wins and three losses for 14 points. They have four fewer points than the first place Vegas Golden Knights.
