
Evan McEachran of Oakville, Ontario won a World Cup men’s slopestyle skiing bronze medal in Laax, Switzerland on Saturday. For McEachran, it was his seventh career World Cup freestyle skiing medal. He has won one gold medal, three silver medals and three bronze medals. Of McEachran’s seven freestyle skiing medals, six have been in slopestyle skiing and one has come in big air skiing.
In the men’s slopestyle skiing event in Laax on Saturday, McEachran had a score of 82.7 points. Birk Ruud of Norway won the gold medal with 85.08 points and Matej Svancer of Austria won the silver medal with 84.08 points. McEachran reached the podium by 0.44 points over Sebastian Schjerve of Norway, who finished in fourth place with a score of 82.26 points.
In the World Cup men’s slopestyle skiing standings, McEachran is in seventh place with 76 points. Mac Forehand of the United States and Ruud lead the World Cup standings with 100 points each. Forehand won a week ago in Snowmass Ski Resort in Aspen, Colorado.
This was the last World Cup men’s slopestyle skiing event before the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in Milan/Cortina d’Ampezzo. There will be one in Tignes, France on March 19, and another in Silvaplana, Switzerland, over a week later, on March 28.
