Eli Bouchard wins men’s slopestyle snowboarding World Cup gold in Austria

Eli Bouchard of Quebec City, Quebec won a gold medal in a World Cup men’s slopestyle snowboarding event in Flachau, Austria on Saturday. For Bouchard it was his second career World Cup medal.

Bouchard posted a score of 81.11 points. Justus Henkes of the United States won the silver medal with 76.91 points. Hiroto Ogiwara of Japan won the bronze medal with a score of 72.58 points. Bouchard reached the podium by 12.75 points over fellow Canadian Cameron Spalding of Peterborough, Ontario, who finished in fourth place with a score of 68.36 points.

This was Bouchard’s first ever medal in men’s slopestyle snowboarding. The other medal came in men’s big air snowboarding. Bouchard placed first in a World Cup men’s big air snowboarding event in Aspen, Colorado on February 6, 2025.

In the World Cup men’s slopestyle snowboarding standings, Bouchard is tied for fifth place with 100 points. He is tied with Jake Canter of the United States. The four snowboarders ahead of Bouchard are Yiming Su of China (140 points), Henkes (139 points), Yuto Kimura of Japan (135 points) and Romain Allemand of France (101 points).

There is one more World Cup men’s slopestyle snowboarding event this season. It is in Silvaplana, Switzerland on Saturday, March 29. The gold medal for Bouchard will give him confidence as he prepares for the 2030 Olympic Winter Games in the French Alps.
