
Elena Gaskell of Vernon, British Columbia won a World Cup silver medal in a women’s slopestyle skiing event in Tignes, France on Thursday. This was the sixth World Cup medal of her career. Three of the medals to date have come in women’s big air skiing and the other three medals have come in women’s slopestyle skiing.
Gaskell posted a score of 76.6 points. Kristy Muir of Great Britain won the gold medal with a score of 82.78 points. Lara Wolf of Austria won the bronze medal with a score of 76.41 points. Gaskell reached the podium by 5.02 points. Grace Henderson of the United States finished in fourth place with a score of 71.58 points.
In the World Cup standings, Muir leads the World Cup standings with 200 points. Gaskell is in second place with 185 points. There is one more World Cup women’s slopestyle skiing event on the schedule. That is in Silvaplana, Switzerland on March 28.
Gaskell’s two prior World Cup slopestyle skiing medals were two bronze medals. They came in Seiseralm, Italy on January 18, 2020, and in Snowmass, Colorado on January 9, 2026. The slopestyle skiing silver medal for Gaskell in France will give her confidence as she prepares for the 2030 Olympic Winter Games in the French Alps.
