
Chicago Blackhawks centre Connor Bedard of Vancouver, British Columbia has recorded his second National Hockey League hat trick on Tuesday. He accomplished the feat in a 5-2 Chicago Blackhawks win over the Calgary Flames at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Bedard first put the Blackhawks up 2-0 with four minutes and 49 seconds left in the second period. Defenseman Sam Rinzel picked up the lone assist. Bedard then scored the game-winning goal at 4:57 of the third period from an impossible angle. Ryan Greene of Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador and Andre Burakovsky picked up the assists. Then, Bedard scored an empty net goal with 41 seconds left to complete the scoring.
Bedard’s first NHL hat trick came on October 28 also against a Canadian team. Bedard scored thrice in a 7-3 Blackhawks win over the Ottawa Senators.
In 2025-26, Bedard has 13 goals and 16 assists for 29 points in 19 games. He is a +10 with 18 penalty minutes, nine power-play points, two game-winning goals, 65 shots on goal, 86 faceoff wins, eight blocked shots, six hits, nine takeaways, and 23 giveaways. Bedard’s other game-winning goal this season came in the game he got his first hat trick of his career against– the Senators. He scored from defenseman Matt Grzelcyk and Artyom Levshunov at 2:58 of the second period to put the Blackhawks up 4-0 at the time.
With the win, the Blackhawks have a record of 10 wins, five regulation losses and four losses in extra time for 24 points. They are in fourth place in the Central Division and lead the Utah Mammoth by one point for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
