Chase Brown of London, Ontario found the end zone in week one in the 2025 National Football League regular season on Sunday. The Cincinnati Bengals running back had a five yard rushing touchdown in a 17-16 Bengals win over the Cleveland Browns. This was the first touchdown for the Bengals this season. It came at 7:32 of the first quarter.

For the game, Brown had 21 rushes for 43 yards. He also had two catches for eight receiving yards.

The Bengals beat the Browns, but the game was a lot closer than people expected. That is because Cincinnati was a 5.5 point favourite, but only won by a single point. The Bengals have beaten the Browns in their last four meetings.  However, before that the Browns had beaten the Bengals in nine of 11 meetings.

It was a surprisingly quiet day for the Bengals offensively. Cincinnati’s star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase only had two catches for 26 receiving yards. Chase signed a four year extension worth a whopping $161 million on March 16. The Bengals, which scored 472 points last season (sixth most in the NFL), got caught in a defensive battle on Sunday. Their only other major score was a one yard touchdown pass from Joe Burrow to Noah Fant, who the Bengals signed in the offseason from the Seattle Seahawks.
