
Team Canada won two medals in para cross country skiing at the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games. Mark Arendz of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island won the bronze medal in the men’s 10 kilometre classical cross country skiing standing event and Brittany Hudak of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan won the bronze medal in the women’s 10 kilometre classical cross country skiing standing event.
Arendz had a time of 27 minutes, 59.3 seconds. Karl Tabouret of France won the gold medal with a time of 27 minutes, 10.7 seconds. Raman Svirydzenka of Belarus won the silver medal with a time of 27 minutes, 38.4 seconds. Arendz reached the podium by 34.3 seconds. Taiki Kawayoke of Japan finished in fourth place with a time of 28 minutes, 33.6 seconds. This was Arendz’s 14th Paralympic medal (nine in biathlon and five in cross-country skiing).
Hudak had a time of 32 minutes and one second. Sydney Peterson of the United States won the gold medal with a time of 29 minutes, 49.2 seconds. Vilde Nilsen of Norway won the silver medal with a time of 29 minutes, 51.8 seconds. Hudak reached the podium by one minute, 39.9 seconds. Yurika Abe of Japan was in fourth place with a time of 33 minutes, 40.9 seconds. This was Hudak’s fourth Paralympic medal (two in cross-country skiing and two in biathlon).
In wheelchair curling, Canada defeated Slovakia 9-6 to improve to 7-0. It was an impressive comeback by Slovakia as they were once down 6-0 before tying the game at six.
Canada currently has 10 medals (one gold, three silver, and six bronze). They are tied for fourth in the overall medal standings with Austria, Italy, France and Ukraine.
