Team Canada has won their second game of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games in women’s hockey. On Monday, Canada defeated the Czech Republic 5-1 to improve their record to two wins and zero losses.

Canada was led offensively by Canadian Olympic gold medalist Brianne Jenner of Oakville, Ontario and Julia Gosling of London, Ontario. Gosling had two goals and Jenner had two assists. The other three Canadian goal scorers were Canadian Olympic gold medalists Laura Stacey of Mississauga, Ontario, and Sarah Fillier of Georgetown, Ontario, along with Kristin O’Neill of Oakville. Jenner won a gold medal for Canada at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, and she teamed up with Stacey and Fillier at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.

The real concern on Monday is the health of Canadian captain Marie-Philip Poulin of Beauceville, Quebec. Poulin suffered a possible knee injury after being hit by Kristyna Kaltounkova of the Czech Republic awkwardly into the boards.

This was the final round robin game for the Czech Republic. They head into the quarterfinals with a record of one win and three losses. Canada next plays the United States on Tuesday at 12pm MT. The game will be for first place in the pool. The United States are at 3-0 and have outscored their opponents 15-1. Canada has outscored the Czech Republic and Switzerland 9-1.
