
Team Canada has remained undefeated at the 2022 World Men’s Curling Championship with a record of six wins and zero losses. On Tuesday, Canada continued with their impressive comebacks by beating Germany 11-7. At one time Canada was trailing Germany 5-1 after three ends, before Canada scored three points each in the fourth, sixth, and ninth ends.
The turning point in the match came in the sixth end. That is when German third Marc Muskatewitz flashed with both of his shot attempts, and allowed Canada to take a 7-6 lead at the time. It would be a lead that Canada would not relinquish.
Heading into the game, Germany has six ends where they scored three points. They had four three-enders in a 13-7 win over the Netherlands on Saturday, a three-ender in the third end on Sunday in an 8-3 win over the United States, and three stolen points in the ninth end in an 11-4 win over Finland on Monday.
Canada meanwhile just continues with the impressive comebacks. They trailed the Netherlands 5-2 on Sunday before coming back to win 9-6. Also on Sunday, Canada trailed Switzerland 4-0 after two ends before winning 10-6.
On Wednesday, the challenge for Team Canada gets much tougher. That is because Brad Gushue’s squad faces Niklas Edin of Sweden, the gold medalist from the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing.
