It was an excellent start for the Canadian team as they scored three points with the hammer in the first end. Team Canada third Marc Kennedy made two hit and roll shots and helped set up a Brad Jacobs draw to the four foot for a commanding lead. Canada then had multiple two-point ends in the third, fifth and eighth ends to win by six points.
A major story in the game was the fact that Ben Hebert of Chestermere, Alberta was perfect. He made all 16 of his shots for a shooting percentage of 100%. The game was over after eight ends.

Canada will play China’s Xu Xiaoming on Thursday morning. China has looked mighty impressive so far. To date, they have defeated 2022 Olympic gold medalist Niklas Edin of Sweden, 9-5, the United States 8-2, and four-time grand slam champion, and two-time World Championship bronze medalist Joel Retornaz of Italy 9-4.
