Canada beats Scotland at 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup

Team Canada has beaten Scotland at the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup. On Saturday, Canada came through with a 40-19 win at Sandy Park in Exeter, England, and in the process, won Pool B with a perfect record of three wins and zero losses.

Emily Tuttosi of Souris, Manitoba led the way for Team Canada with two tries. They came in the 34th and 57th minutes. Three Canadian players had one try. They were McKinley Hunt of King City, Ontario, Brittany Kassil of Mississauga, Ontario, and Olivia DeMerchant of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Canada will next play Australia in the quarterfinals on Saturday, September 13 in Bristol. It has been one of two quarterfinals that have been decided. In another quarterfinal, England is playing Scotland, also in Bristol.

We know the other four quarterfinalists in Exeter next weekend. They are South Africa, New Zealand, Ireland and France. On Sunday, New Zealand is playing Ireland for first place in Pool C and France is playing South Africa for first place in Pool D. The winners of both games will win their respective groups, and the losers will finish second.

Julia Schell of Uxbridge, Ontario continues to lead the Women’s Rugby World Cup with the most tries. She has six.
