
Team Canada has finished the round robin portion of the 2026 World Men’s Curling Championships in Ogden, Utah. On Thursday, they came away with victories over Germany and Norway. It was the fourth consecutive day at the World Championships, where Team Canada won both games of a doubleheader.
In Canada’s win over Germany, Team Canada won convincingly by a score of 9-2. It was the third time at the 2026 World Men’s Curling Championships that Canada beat their opponent by a score of 9-2 as they also beat Italy and Poland.
In Canada’s game against Norway on Thursday night, the score was significantly tighter. Team Canada was forced to an extra end where they won 7-5.
Now, the round robin is complete, and Canada finished in third place with a record of 10 wins and two losses. Canada had the exact same records as Sweden and Scotland. Due to the fact Canada, Scotland and Sweden all beat each other in head-to-head play, the draw shot challenge was used as the tiebreaker. Sweden was first at 14.445 centimetres, Scotland was second at 23.959 centimetres, and Canada was third at 30.777 centimetres.
Canada’s opponent in Friday’s qualification game is Italy. Meanwhile, the United States will play Switzerland. The winners will play Sweden and Scotland in the semifinals.
