Team Canada trounced Australia 12-0 on Sunday at the 2025 Little League World Series on Sunday from Williamsport, Pennsylvania. It was Canada’s first win of the tournament after losing 4-0 in their opening game to Venezuela on Friday.

Canada is represented by Little Mountain Little League in Vancouver, British Columbia. A major reason for the Canadian victory was the tremendous pitching by Tyson Grimsrud-Ronse, who had four shutout innings, and had five strikeouts and a walk. Grimsrud-Ronse also did not give up a hit.

Three Canadian players had a multi-hit game. They were Misha Lee, Arek Aubuchon and Matthew Wong, who each had two hits. Canada’s big inning was the top of the fifth inning, as they scored eight runs. Aubuchon led Canada with three runs batted in. Team Canada had two extra base hits as Lee had a double and Aubuchon had a triple.

Canada was to play the loser of Aruba and Chinese Taipei from Monday. Chinese Taipei came through with a 4-0 win over Aruba, and will now face Venezuela in the upper final on Wednesday. So, Canada will next play Aruba in their second straight elimination game in the lower round bracket. The other lower round bracket game on Wednesday will have Japan versus Mexico.
