
The Calgary Canucks have won the 2025 Centennial Cup. They won their second Canadian National Junior A Hockey Tournament as they were previously victorious in 1995.
The Canucks were the host team this year as the tournament took place at Max Bell Arena in Calgary, Alberta. Calgary won Group B with a record of three wins and one loss. They defeated the Melfort Mustangs 3-1, the Edmunston Blizzard 8-2 and the Valleyfield Braves 11-6. Their only loss came to the Rockland Nationals by a score of 7-2.
Calgary got a bye to the semifinals by winning the group. In the semifinals, they defeated the Nationals 3-2, and then clobbered the Mustangs 7-2 in the final.
The gold medal game between the Mustangs and Canucks had an even first period as the score was 1-1 after 20 minutes. The Canucks dominated the Mustangs thereafter as they outscored Melfort 6-1.
Three Canucks players led the team with three points in the final. Forward Hayden Fechner of Edmonton, Alberta had two goals and one assist, forward Jayden Joly of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta had one goal and two assists, and left winger Gavin Schmidt of Okotoks, Alberta had three assists. Two more Canucks had a multi-point game. Forward Jack Plandowski of Halifax, Nova Scotia had one goal and one assist for two points, and defenseman Nathan Maloney of Strathmore, Alberta had two assists. The other three Canucks goal scorers were right winger Rhett Melnyk of Edmonton, Nolan Dupont of Calgary, Alberta, and defenseman Landon Pappas of Airdrie, Alberta.
