
Canadian Olympic gold medalist Brianne Jenner of Oakville, Ontario has been named the Professional Women’s Hockey League First Star of the Week for the week from January 5-11, 2026. In two games for the Ottawa Charge, Jenner had two goals, was a +2, with six shots on goal, one game-winning goal, one shootout goal, one hit, and 25 faceoff wins.
Jenner’s game-winning goal came with one minute and 25 seconds left in the third period in a 4-2 Charge win over the Vancouver Goldeneyes on Friday from Toronto Dominion Place in Ottawa, Ontario. Jenner put the Charge up 3-1 with an empty net goal from Peyton Hemp.
Jenner then scored in regulation and the shootout in a 2-1 Charge win over the Boston Fleet on Sunday. Jenner scored from Sarah Wozniewicz of Cochrane, Alberta and defenseman Brooke Hobson of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on an all-Canadian goal at 6:48 of the third period to tie the game at one.
In 2025-26, Jenner has seven goals and five assists for 12 points in 12 games. She is a +1 with two penalty minutes, 121 faceoff wins, two power-play goals, one shorthanded goal, one game-winning goal, three shootout goals, three blocked shots and 39 shots on goal.
Jenner’s first power-play goal of the season and shorthanded goal came in a 5-1 Charge win over the Goldeneyes on November 26. Jenner opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 2:25 of the first period from Gabby Hughes and Rory Guilday. Jenner’s shorthanded goal went into an empty net and ended the scoring with one minute and 48 seconds left in the third period. Rebecca Leslie of Ottawa had the assist. Jenner’s second power-play goal came on December 21 in a 3-2 Charge overtime win over the Minnesota Frost. Jenner scored with four seconds left in the second period from Leslie and Guilday to put the Charge up 2-1.
Jenner has won two Olympic gold medals in women’s hockey for Canada. The first came at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi and the second came at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang.
The Charge are in fourth place in thew PWHL standings with 17 points. They have a record of seven wins (three regulation wins and four wins win extra time) and five losses.
