
There was a trade made in the National Hockey League on Tuesday. The St. Louis Blues have traded multi-positional forward Zach Bolduc of Trois-Rivieres, Quebec to the Montreal Canadiens for defenseman Logan Mailloux of Belle River Ontario. Bolduc can play centre according to Hockey Reference and right wing according to Rogers Sportsnet.
Bolduc has played the last two seasons with the Blues. Last season, in 72 games, he had 19 goals and 17 assists for 36 points. He was a +20 with 37 penalty minutes, 12 power-play points, 120 shots on goal, five faceoff wins, 36 blocked shots, 108 hits, 17 takeaways and 59 giveaways.
The first round pick, 17th overall, in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Bolduc had three two-goal performances during the regular season. They came in a 5-2 Blues win over the New York Rangers on November 25, in a 7-2 Blues win over the Seattle Kraken on February 25, and in a 5-4 Blues win over the Colorado Avalanche on April 5.
Mailloux had two goals and two assists for four points in seven games with the Canadiens this past season. He was a -5 with six penalty minutes, 10 shots on goal, eight blocked shots, nine hits, and four giveaways. Mailloux was also first round pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. He was taken 31st overall by the Canadiens.
