The Toronto Blue Jays have won the 2025 American League East. On Sunday, the Blue Jays swept the Tampa Bay Rays in a three game series at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario. With the sweep, the Blue Jays finished the regular season with a record of 94 wins and 68 losses. They were actually tied for first place with the New York Yankees in the American League East. The Blue Jays got the tiebreaker as they won eight of 13 games against the Yankees in the regular season. With the expanded baseball format, there is no longer a one game playoff to decide the division winner.

Toronto also finished first in the American League. By being one of the top two teams, the Blue Jays get a first round bye to the American League Divisional Series. They will play either the New York Yankees or Boston Red Sox starting Saturday in Toronto.

In the series sweep, the Blue Jays beat the Rays 4-2 on Friday, 5-1 on Saturday, and 13-4 on Sunday. In Friday’s win, Shane Bieber got the win and Nathan Lukes hit a two-run home run. In Saturday’s win, Trey Yesavage got the win, and Alejandro Kirk hit a home run. In Sunday’s win, Kirk hit two home runs (including a grand slam), while Addison Barger and George Springer both homered.
