The Toronto Argonauts signed two Canadians with Canadian Football League experience on Tuesday according to the Canadian Press. They came to terms with linebacker Jordan Herdman-Reed of Winnipeg, Manitoba and wide receiver Felix Garand-Gauthier of Mirabel, Quebec.

Herdman-Reed, who attended Simon Fraser University, is joining his fourth CFL franchise. He was with the British Columbia Lions for three seasons from 2017 to 2019, the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2021, 2022 and 2024, and the Calgary Stampeders in 2023. Herdman-Reed had eight special team tackles in 13 games with the Roughriders last season. In 98 CFL career games, he has 96 defensive tackles, 68 special team tackles, three sacks and one forced fumble, which came in an 18-17 Lions win over the Toronto Argonauts on July 6, 2019.

Garand-Gauthier has played the last four seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 2024, he had one defensive tackle, 10 special teams tackles, and one catch for two yards.

So far it has been a relatively disappointing season for the Argonauts. They are only at two wins and five losses and are in third place in the East Division. However, the defending Grey Cup champions were very impressive in their last game. In a Grey Cup rematch, the Argonauts came through with a 31-17 win over the Blue Bombers at BMO Field.
