The Toronto Argonauts have named Mike Miller as their new head coach according to Rogers Sportsnet on Tuesday. The hiring comes after Ryan Dinwiddie accepted the head coach and general manager jobs with the Ottawa Redblacks.
Miller will now try and turn the Argonauts around after a disappointing 2025 Canadian Football League season. They had a record of five wins and 13 losses in 2025.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this is Miller’s first head coaching job. However, he was the Argonauts quarterbacks coach from 2022 to 2025. In that time, the Argonauts won two Grey Cups. In 2022, the Argonauts defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 24-23 at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan. Toronto won the game on a five-yard run by A.J. Ouellette. Then in 2024, the Argonauts defeated the Blue Bombers again. This time, Toronto won quite convincingly by a score of 41-24 at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.
In addition to being an assistant coach for Toronto, Miller was an assistant coach with the Montreal Alouettes in the 2013 CFL season. That year he was the Alouettes’s assistant head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. In the National Football League, Miller has experience as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, and Arizona Cardinals.
